Vivawest Replace Gazprom on Schalke Kits

Update - March 12, 2022: Schalke have released the regular version of their kit with the logo of the new sponsor Vivawest. It is available to buy for 70 Euro. The kit with the patched sponsor will be debuted against Ingolstadt today.

The imprint is foiled over the Gazprom sponsor logo

The new sponsor is foiled over the Gazprom sponsor logo previously shown on the chest. This solution is without alternative, as all jerseys from the Knappen's inventory have already been imprinted since the beginning of the season.

Update - March 5, 2022: Schalke today announced that Vivawest, a housing provider, have signed with the club to become their new shirt sponsor. This garnered them a lot of praise and sees the end of the 15-year Gazprom era.

According to Schalke, this is only a temporary agreement, imlpying that Vivawest will only remain on their jerseys until the end of this season.

Today, Schalke will already play in shirts featuring their new sponsor, but with a twist. The club are placing a large message calling for peace, "Gemeinsam für Frieden" ("Together for peace"), where the shirt sponsor goes.

Vivawest's logo is much smaller and fits above this message. These special kits will be auctioned off and help raise money for Schalkehilft, who will support Ukraine.

We expect to see a larger version of the Vivawest logo without the peace message at a later point this season as well.

Original article - March 1, 2022: According to German sports magazine, Kicker, Schalke 04 are already on a quest to gain a new shirt sponsor, since the club's long-term partnership with Gazprom was prematurely terminated.

Schalke's New Shirt Sponsor

Earlier reports indicated that Veltin's, who own the naming rights for Schalke's stadium and used to be the club's shirt sponsor, are not looking to regain this position.

Instead, Vivawest, a housing provider, is apparently on the brink of signing a deal with 'Die Königsblauen'. The company is situated in Essen, in western Germany, so it has strong ties to the region.

After ending the Gazprom deal yesterday, Schalke stated they are hopeful that a new sponsor will be found soon. It is not known if an agreement with Vivawest would only be to see out the rest of the season, or if it could be a multi-year contract.

This means we will likely not be seeing the kits with the "Schalke 04" writing on the front many more times. Perhaps next weekend will be the last occasion.
