Celtic Forced to Change Kit in Champions League - Hoops Removed From Back
As we have seen on many occasions before, UEFA's strict kit rules do not permit striped designs to continue on the back of shirts. This is due to visibility of the players' names and numbers.
Celtic FC have fallen victim to this regulation multiple times, including just last season. Their 2022-23 home kit is no exception, as it features the club's traditional green and white hooped design on the front, back and sleeves.
Celtic 22-23 Home Shirt Has White Back in UEFA Competitions
The regular Celtic 2022-23 home kit does not abide by UEFA's equipment regulations, meaning the club have had to alter it. Now, the back of the shirt contains only two green hoops at the bottom, with the rest in solid white.
In fact, the font for the names and numbers has changed, as well as its colour from black to green. Black was only used as it makes the numbers legible over both green and white, but now there is no need for that.
