Update: Liga Portugal 2 Sleeve Patch Changes After All & Font Confirmed?
- Liga Portugal 2 Sleeve Patch: The Liga Portugal 2 sleeve patch will be different for the 2023-24 season, resembling the old Liga Portugal patch more closely than the previous Liga Portugal 2 patch.
- Liga Portugal 2 Font: The Liga Portugal 2 font has been confirmed as the new typeface, with CD Mafra displaying their squad numbers using the font.
- Liga Portugal Font: Liga Portugal font only changes the logo and maintains the last year's body, however it doesn't have the club's crest but the league logo.
Update: We now know that the Liga Portugal 2 patch will change for the new 2023-24 season.
Belenenses and União de Leiria (curiously the two teams who have been promoted) have given us a glimpse of the new patch, confirming that it will not be the same used for past seasons.
After the new one of Liga Portugal being closer in design to the old patch of Liga Portugal 2, the new one is closer in design to the old patch of the first tier!
Also, CD Mafra announced their squad numbers, showing that they have adopted the Liga Portugal 2 typeface and, thereby, confirming it.
Original: After announcing the changes to their branding for the 2023-24 season, due to changing their main sponsors, the Liga Portugal (formerly known as Primeira Liga) and the Liga Portugal 2 (formerly known as Segunda Liga) sleeve patches and font are already known, although not officially released by the league.
We already explained all the changes, shared our predictions and got in-depth into the why of all of this commotion.
LIGA PORTUGAL SLEEVE PATCH
Here's the brand new Liga Portugal Betclic sleeve patch for the 2023-24 season.
It does not match our prediction of only changing the logo of the league. The federation decided to change the format, which we like because it homologates the format in line with whats used in Liga Portugal 2 currently.
LIGA PORTUGAL FONT
Here's the brand new Liga Portugal Betclic font for the 2023-24 season.
It matches our prediction of only changing the logo of the league and maintaining last year's body. Despite being a logical decision, we think the font should have the club's crest instead of the league logo, similar to Serie A's font.
LIGA PORTUGAL 2 SLEEVE PATCH
Here's the current Liga Portugal 2 Sabseg sleeve patch which we expect to stay the same for the 2023-24 season.
There is a slight possibility of a small adjustment being made for this season, such as the Liga Portugal 2 text placement, off to the left side to mantain the design structure of the first-tier sleeve patch.
LIGA PORTUGAL FONT
Here's the brand new Liga Portugal 2 Sabseg font for the 2023-24 season.
It's the same base font as the one used in the LIga Portugal. However, it does not have the league sponsor on it, offering a cleaner look.
Foot Headlines can also confirm that this font probably won't be mandatory this season, due to cost reasons. It will be introduced this season for clubs to adopt, to give time to the clubs who cannot afford to change it time to do it.
It has already been debuted in the newly formed AFS SAD Away kit, in their presentation match.
