Not Justified? Adidas Announce That 10/10 is Messi Day, Despite Number 10 Was Also Worn By Maradona & Pele

Adidas have officially declared October 10 as "Messi Day" in honor of football superstar Lionel Messi, but is this justified?

Adidas Announce 10/10 as Messi Day - Second Attempt of Brand

The announcement was made on social media with a post that read, "๐Ÿ”Ÿ/๐Ÿ”Ÿ a day. a number. the goat. we introduce from today that 10/10 is officially Messi Day. stay tuned for what's to come. you're not ready."

Messi released extremely limited 10/10 boots in 2014 and 2015

This is not the first time Adidas have tried to make 10/10 Messi's Day. In 2014 and 2015, the company released limited edition Messi 10/10 soccer shoes. However, they stopped this "tradition" after only two launches.

It remains to be seen if Adidas will release something special to celebrate the 10/10 day. The Three Stripes made Messi's new Miami boots available early, but that would be nothing to justify the "you're not ready" slogan.

Maradona and Pele also wore the number 10, so a Messi Day is not justified for many, including us

But is it actually justified to declare 10/10 as Messi Day? Some of the greatest footballers of all time have worn the number 10 shirt, including Pele, Maradona and Puskas. Footy Headlines think that day should be to honor all these great footballers and not just Messi.
