EXCLUSIVE: Adidas Rolls Out Trefoil Across Entire Football Pyramid
- Adidas Strategy: Adidas is expanding the use of its Trefoil logo across the entire football pyramid, marking a significant shift in branding strategy.
- Trefoil Logo Integration: The Trefoil logo will be featured on kits, footwear, equipment, and apparel for a wider range of clubs, not just elite teams.
- Commercial Success: The decision to expand the Trefoil's use is driven by its commercial success and positive fan response, boosting Adidas sales in footwear and apparel.
Update - Thursday, May 28, 2026: The 2026-27 season kit releases have started - while only a single Trefoil kit has been revealed yet (Orlando Pirates), we already know that at least 30 Adidas teams will get a Trefoil kit in 26-27 (no info about Paris FC and Como leaked yet) to get a Trefoil kit. There are certainly more than 30 teams in the end that get a Trefoil.
Update - March 11, 2026 Confirming our report from last August, two smaller Adidas teams got access to the Trefoil logo - Kosovo and Brest. Both Kosovo's and Brest's new Trefoil kits were created using the Adidas Locker Room. The Trefoil logo is still not available for amateur teams via the Locker Room, however. Still, expect dozens more teams to get Trefoil kits for the 26-27 season.
The Trefoil logo will be featured on many Adidas 26-27 away kits, including, of course, all Elite teams, plus mid-tier teams like Köln, Frankfurt, and Leeds.
Aug 15, 2025: Following the immense success of its return to on-pitch apparel, Footy Headlines can exclusively reveal that Adidas is planning to dramatically expand the use of its iconic Trefoil logo across the entire football pyramid.
Adidas to Roll Out Trefoil Across Entire Football Pyramid
This bold new strategy will see the classic Trefoil logo appear on a wide range of products, including kits, footwear, and apparel, for clubs at all levels.
The Trefoil's comeback, which began with the 2024-25 third kits for elite clubs, is set to go mainstream. The logo will no longer be a special feature for a select few but will be integrated across the brand's whole football ecosystem.
- Kits: The Trefoil will appear on kits for a much wider range of clubs, not just the top tier.
- Footwear: Football boots will feature the Trefoil logo.
- Equipment: Goalkeeper gloves and other accessories will also get the Trefoil treatment.
- Apparel: The logo will be central to lifestyle and training collections.
No Only Elite Tier Anymore
This move suggests a major shift in Adidas's strategy. By giving all clubs access to the Trefoil, it effectively narrows the branding gap between the so-called "elite" teams and lower-tier clubs.
Fueled by Commercial Success
The reason behind this expansion is clear: the return of the Trefoil has been a huge commercial success. The 2024-25 and 2025-26 third kits were met with massive fan approval, which reportedly strongly boosted Adidas's sales in both footwear and apparel.
This new information also serves as the ultimate confirmation of our report from November 2024, when we stated that the Trefoil was set to become a "second" official logo for Adidas Football, implying its use would become much more widespread.
What do you think of this strategy from Adidas? Do you like the idea of the Trefoil logo appearing on boots, gloves, and kits for all Adidas clubs? Let us know your thoughts in the comments below.
Adidas Launches Special 26-27 Dog Kit for Real Madrid
Adidas has released a dedicated kit for dogs linked to Real Madrid. The designs adapt the club's new 2026-2027 home kit.
The collection lets fans outfit their pets to match the team's look. It builds on Adidas's growing range of pet products, including similar jerseys created for select national teams ahead of the 2026 World Cup.
Arsenal Sends Kit Without Adidas Logo & Arsenal Crest
Arsenal shirt collector @NathanPanter_52 has posted images of the 26-27 home shirt bought for £136 that is missing both the Adidas logo and the club crest. The item is an official product - it is very uncommon that something like that happens.
LEAKED: Adidas to Upgrade Leeds United to Local Elite Tier
As spotted by @theadelites, a new customisation option on the Leeds United club shop website allows fans to chosse between replica and authentic kits (added by error too early). This probably means that Adidas has upgraded the club from the B Premium tier to one of the Local A Elite tiers. The move gives fans the option to select authentic kits built around advanced Climacool+ performance technology.
Reports from February indicated similar upgrades for clubs including Ajax and Lyon ahead of the 2026-27 season, but Adidas apparently postponed/scrapped these. Adidas previously already upgraded British teams Celtic, Aston Villa, and Newcastle United.
A quick color analysis of Newcastle's 26-27 home kit. It are not the colors that make this shirt bad, unlike the Madrid 26-27 kit.
