Beautiful | Vasco Da Gama Announces New Main Kit Sponsor, Logo Applied in Line With Sash

  • New Sponsorship: Vasco da Gama has announced Betfair as their new main kit sponsor, in a deal that is their largest in history, with the logo being placed in line with the kit's sash.
  • Unique Kit Design: The placement of the Betfair logo is unique, unlike other examples, and is being hailed as a lead model for other clubs.
  • Debut & Acclaim: The Betfair-branded kits will debut on May 12th and the sponsorless home kit was named the best football kit of April 2024.

Vasco da Gama, the historic Brazilian football club, has announced Betfair as its new main sponsor. The way the logo is applied on the different kits should be a lead model for other clubs.

Vasco Announces Betfair Main Kit Sponsor Deal

Vasco's 2024-25 home kit will feature the Betfair logo in sync with the sash rather than over the club's trademark kit design element.

Comparing different kits with a Sash, it becomes obvious that Vasco x Betfair's execution is something special. Other options would have been to interrupt the Sash (like Everton three years ago, put a smaller one below the crest (like Manchester City in the 2010-11 season), or place the logo just over the Sash (like horrifically done by Crystal Palace and its sponsor ManBetX).

On Pitch: Huddersfield 19-20 Home Kit with Fake PaddyPower Sponsor

Betfair might also has been inspired by PaddyPower, who put a giant logo diagonally on the Huddersfield kit as a joke.

Meanwhile, the Betfair logo sits on the shoulder blade of the women's team and horizontally on the keeper kit.

The new Vasco da Gama Betfair football kit sponsor is valid until December 2024, with the possibility of renewal for two additional seasons. It is the largest in Vasco da Gama's history, although the exact amount has not been officially disclosed.

Ajax's historic sponsor Abn-Amro puts is logo vertically, in line with the club's famous red stripe.

Vasco will debut the Betfair-branded kits on May 12th in a match against Vitória.

Vasco also just won our Best Football Kit of the Month award - back then in a sponsorless version.

Concept: What If World Cup Winners Wore Special Badges on Club Kits?

A creative concept visualized by Bleacher Report has sparked discussion among kit enthusiasts, posing an intriguing question: what if players who have won the FIFA World Cup were allowed to wear a special champion badge on their club kits? Under current FIFA equipment regulations, only reigning national team champions and Club World Cup winners are permitted to sport the official FIFA Champions Badge, but bringing an individual achievement patch to the club stage introduces a bold twist to modern shirt details.

The mockups feature World Cup winners wearing a sleek, gold trophy silhouette on their kit sleeves stamped with the year of their international triumph. The concept envisions players like Lionel Messi donning a 2022 patch on his Inter Miami shirt, Kylian Mbappé carrying a 2018 badge in Real Madrid white, and Rodri sporting a 2026 mark. It serves as an immediate visual marker of football's ultimate honor, staying with the player regardless of their club transfers.

In reality, domestic leagues and confederations enforce strict uniform guidelines that limit sleeve real estate almost entirely to league badges, sleeve sponsors, and charitable campaign logos. While regulatory hurdles make such a badge virtually impossible in professional football, the visualization offers a clean and compelling look at how personal legacy could be integrated into club kits.

Inter Milan 26-27 Third Kit Debuted

Inter Milan officially debuted their new Nike 26-27 third kit on the pitch during a dramatic 5-3 Serie A comeback victory against Udinese at the San Siro, just hours after its official unveiling.

Taking inspiration from the Nerazzurri's iconic look from the late 1990s, notably referencing the 1997-98 and 1998-99 shirts. the new third kit is built on a stone-grey 'Iron Ore' base featuring a subtle tonal jacquard pattern. The centerpiece of the design is a prominent black horizontal chest band accented by a thin 'Blue Spark' lower stripe. Bright 'Speed Yellow' details are applied to the Swoosh, the two-starred club crest, the Betsson.sport sponsor, and retro-styled 1990s font names and numbers.
