  • Adidas's Frustration: Adidas, previously considered the front-runner, is now frustrated by Nike's aggressive move and may consider withdrawing their proposal.
  • Decision Awaited: Corinthians' interim board is analyzing both offers and will present their chosen proposal to the club's Orientation Council (CORI) for ratification this week.

In a dramatic turn of events, the battle for Corinthians' next kit supplier deal has intensified. Just when it seemed the Brazilian giants were set to begin a new era with Adidas, incumbent sponsor Nike has launched a massive "billion-real" counter-offer to renew their long-standing partnership. Adidas and Nike Fight for Corinthians Deal

According to reports from Brazilian outlet Globo Esporte, Nike has formalized a proposal to renew its contract with the club until 2036. The deal is worth up to R$ 1.3 billion (approximately 240 USD million) over ten years, including bonuses and variable earnings.

This offer financially surpasses the proposal from Adidas, which was reported to be worth approximately R$ 1 billion for the same period.

Adidas was previously considered the front-runner to take over the contract, but Nike's late, aggressive move has changed everything. The uncertainty has reportedly caused frustration for Adidas, who, according to sources, might even consider withdrawing their proposal.

Meanwhile, Nike, who have sponsored Corinthians since 2003, is looking to rebuild and strengthen a relationship that had become strained under the club's previous management. This is despite a current legal impasse over a renewal clause that was activated by Nike's local distributor, which the club does not recognize.

Confirming their commitment, Doug Bowles, VP and General Manager of Nike in Latin America, stated: "We are proud of our partnership of more than 20 years, built on shared values and a strong connection with the fans. We were encouraged by the new management's openness to dialogue and are ready to resume conversations and extend this relationship beyond 2029."

Corinthians' interim board is currently analyzing the specifics of both offers. A final decision is expected to be made this week, after which the chosen proposal will be presented to the club's Orientation Council (CORI) for ratification.
