Stunning new architectural renders have revealed PSV Eindhoven's ambitious expansion plans for the Philips Stadion. The Dutch club is progressing a massive €400 million redevelopment project aimed at boosting capacity from the current 35,000 up to around 55,000 seats, with final capacity projected between 52,000 and 58,500. Crucially, the plans ensure the club remains at its historic home in the heart of Eindhoven rather than relocating to an out-of-town venue.

The preferred design adds a comprehensive third tier wrapping around all four stands, significantly expanding capacity while preserving the compact, intimidating atmosphere. On the outside, the venue will be encased in an elegant colonnade facade at street level, featuring open pedestrian plazas, upgraded hospitality areas, and a new club store. A state-of-the-art cable-net roof structure will crown the arena, equipped with integrated acoustic panels to lock in matchday noise and prevent disruption to surrounding residential areas.
Demolition and initial construction work are targeted to start in May 2027 following the end of the 26-27 campaign, with full completion planned for 2030. PSV plans to continue playing home matches throughout the redevelopment, which will see the stadium operate without a roof for approximately two years while the new upper tier and roof are erected.
With Eindhoven's municipal executive approving zoning plans and extending the ground lease to 2077, the project now heads to a key city council vote in December 2026 as financing packages are finalized.
