Should Nike Release New CR7 Signature Boots?
- CR7 Signature Boot Gap: It has been over two years since Nike last released a signature boot for Cristiano Ronaldo, and he has not been featured in Nike advertising campaigns during this time.
- Boot Preference Shift: Ronaldo, now nearing retirement and experiencing changes in his physical condition, has switched from Mercurial Superfly to Mercurial Vapor boots for comfort, potentially complicating Nike's choice for a signature boot.
- Signature Boot History: Nike has released 32 CR7 signature Mercurial boots to date.
It has been more than 2 years since Nike last released a signature boot for Ronaldo. Since then, Ronaldo has not received any signature shoes and is no longer a regular face in Nike's advertising campaigns. As Ronaldo's retirement date approaches, should Nike release a new CR7 signature boot?
Should Nike Release New CR7 Signature Boots?
The last time Nike released a CR7 signature boot was in October 2022 (for the 2022 World Cup). Since then, Nike has not released any signature boots for Ronaldo, nor has he appeared in any Swoosh advertising campaigns.
In the past, Ronaldo was often the first player to wear new colorways of the Mercurial boot. However, in the last 2 years, he has rarely worn new colorways of the Mercurial boots. Most recently, CR7 has worn the MDS 009 boot from November 2024 until now.
The last time Ronaldo appeared in a Nike football boot ad was in the summer of 2022, for what was then the next-generation Nike Mercurial Air Zoom Superfly 9 boot.
At the age of 39, having just turned 40 two days ago, Ronaldo's legs are not as strong as they used to be, so he has switched to wearing the Vapor silo instead of the familiar Superfly in order to provide the most comfortable feel for his ankles.
Mention CR7 and we think of Mercurial Superfly boots, but for over a year now he has only worn Mercurial Vapor boots. This will probably make it difficult for Nike to choose a shoe silo to release signature boots for Ronaldo.
In contrast to Ronaldo, Messi is still Adidas' top ambassador and continues to release his signature shoes on a regular basis.
All 32 Nike CR7 Signature Boots
Nike has released 32 Mercurial CR7 signature boots so far. We (previously) and some other sites listed 31 CR7 signature boots because we forgot the CR110 version (the one celebrating Ronaldo's 110 goals for the national team).

Adidas, Nike & Puma All Use Pink for 2026 World Cup
With the 2026 World Cup just around the corner, the highly anticipated tournament boot collections from the "Big Three" are finally coming into full view. In a massive and highly unusual coincidence, Adidas, Nike, and Puma have all selected the exact same primary color for the world's biggest football festival: pink.
Both Nike and Adidas have opted for a nearly identical colorway formula, heavily utilizing a striking mix of pink, white, and black across all of their respective silos. Puma is also fully embracing the trend, though they have introduced a slight variation to stand out. Their pack features a vibrant pink mixed with bright orange gradients, with the notable exception of the King 20 model, which features a predominantly white base with pink detailing.
With all three major sportswear giants completely aligning on this bold hue, we can be absolutely certain that a sea of pink will dominate the pitches across North America this summer.
However, this shared color palette is going to create a very unique issue during the tournament. With the vast majority of players wearing the exact same vibrant shade, it is going to be incredibly difficult for fans and boot spotters to quickly identify specific brands and models from a distance during television broadcasts.
