Either Argentina or Spain will earn another star for their kit. Boca shirt expert @marto_m3 has imagined how the fourth star for Argentina and the second for Spain could look. We actually expect Adidas to add the additional star differently, above the current star(s).

Argentina Become First Team to Use Two Different World Cup Champions Badges

Since its introduction in 2007 and first appearance on Italy's 2008 kits, the World Cup Champions Badge has always come in two versions: gold and white. This allows teams to match the badge contrast with their kit colors.

However, until now, every defending champion had only used one version of the badge at a World Cup. Italy used only the white badge in 2010, despite they have the gold version on away kit. While Spain (2014), Germany (2018), and France (2022) done the same with gold badge on every kits.

Argentina broke this by using both versions of the badge on their kits at the 2026 World Cup, becoming the first team to do so. Big thanks to @jerseystory_vn for spotting this detail.

Djed Spence Receives Shirt From Lionel Messi

Bri Spence, sister of Djed Spence, has shared a photo of her brother receiving a special gift from Lionel Messi after the 2026 World Cup Semi-Final - an Argentina away shirt.

However, our Vietnamese partner @jerseystory_vn spotted that this was not a match-worn jersey, but actually a replica shirt instead.

It is highly likely that Messi and his staff prepared a batch of replica shirts specifically to give away as gifts to opponents and fans after each match.

2026 World Cup Final Kits Prediction

Vietnamese kit experts @jerseystory_vn have carried out their prediction on match colors for the upcoming 2026 World Cup Final, where they suggest there would be no surprises in both teams' choices.

Spain as the designated "home team" will very likely return to their classic red home kit, paired with blue shorts and socks as usual. Therefore, Argentina would be able to stick to the lucky home kit variation of white and sky blue shirt, white shorts and white socks.

This is the tie where we believe the kit choices would not differ no matter who is to choose first.

Argentina Stick To White Shorts Against Egypt

Following latest document published by FIFA and thanks to @jerseystory_vn with interesting insight, it is now confirmed that Argentina will continue to use the white shorts & socks version of their home kit against Egypt on July 7, despite being the team to choose kit first. This would be their third game using the iconic variant in this World Cup.

This is the eleventh time Argentina play in this combination in their last 12 knock-out games at major tournaments. It is the colorway that saw them won 2021, 2024 Copa América and 2022 World Cup.
